Kasauli Rhythm & Blues festival is a three day long musical event organized by Genesis Foundation, a non-profit organization working towards saving lives of underprivileged children battling with chronic ailments. The Foundation brings together established and upcoming artistes from India’s diverse pool of musical talent to perform in support of the critically ill under-privileged and orphan children under its care. Music aficionados can contribute for the cause by doing what they love – listening to music.

The line-up for the Fifth Kasauli Rhythm & Blues music festival will mesmerize the audience with a mixed genre of music - western, sufi, fusion and Bollywood!

From the best dressed to the questionable looks, the fashion on the red carpet had been a sight to see! Quantico star and Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra, on the Oscars 2016, was graceful with her beautiful white Zuhair Murad strapless gown. She was also among the presenters at this year's Academy Awards.

Alejandro G. Iñárritu is Best Director 2016 Oscar winner for The Revenant. This is the sixth Academy Award nomination for Alejandro G. Iñárritu and his fourth win.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the 2016 Oscar Winner for Best Actor and it is the first Academy Award for the actor. In his acceptance speech, DiCaprio brought attention to global warming. He stated, "Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species. We need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating." In the Revenant, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, who is badly mauled by a grizzly and abandoned by his fellow trappers.

Brie Larson is the 2016 Oscar winner for Best Actress for ROOM, announced by presenter Eddie Redmayne.

ABOUT STORY PARADE
There’s a storyteller in all of us who keeps telling stories. This is the time for us to take those stories to a little bigger group of audiences. If you have a story, you deserve to be heard. Story Parade is a platform for all to tell stories, real, fictitious, mythological, historical, political etc.


o Story Parade-How it works
• Genre: You must perform a story or a story song.
• Story time: You can perform only one story for 2 to 5 minutes. If the audience approves, the duration can be increased.
• Only solo performances allowed.
• No technical assistance will be provided.
• Stories performed can be in any of the Indian languages. Foreign language stories are also welcome as long as you can cement the understanding through your powerful performance.
• Time: When the Master Storyteller gives you the signal that your time is up, please cut the long story short and leave the stage.
• Genres: Only stories, real, fictitious, written by you, or by any other writer, mythological, folktales, love & war stories, stories with costumes, puppets, props etc. There’s no limit to the genre of stories.
• Prohibited: Foul language, or anything that flouts the laws of India.
• No. of Stories: There will be up to 15 slots of upto 5 minutes each.
• Register: Register yourself on explara.com and to get a Story Parade slot, simply sign up with the master storyteller before the start of the event.
• Sequence: First come, first perform.
• Age: 3 to 100 years.
• Price: The event is non-competitive in nature. Everybody is a winner. On the discretion of the master storytellers, small gift to the best three storytellers may be awarded.

About Kamal Pruthi

Kamal Pruthi is counted among the top five trendsetting and most renowned storytellers of India, popularly known as Kabuliwaala, he started his theatrical journey 17 years ago in Delhi in 1999 and got trained in acting and physical theatre in Berlin, at Sri Ram Centre for Performing arts and at NSD’s TIE Company in Delhi. A recipient of Polska theatre fellowship from Poland in 2015 as the distinguished theatre practitioners of the world, he also received a South Asian fellowship for his excellence in the field of Arts management in 2014. In 2006 Pruthi was awarded Goethe Scholarship for young and emerging theatre practitioners of the world to get trained in Germany.

Kamal is a guest faculty on Storytelling and theatre at several Delhi Colleges, and teaches Drama in Schools and NGOs. As a polyglot performer, he performs in 6 languages that are Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, English, German and Kannada. Kamal is the only storyteller in India who also performs in German. As a German teacher he also teaches German at Goethe Institute Delhi. On three German scholarships, Kamal pursued Management training in Germany and certifications as a language trainer in 2008-09.

The much awaited result for ‪'Weave Your Sound‬' music contest organised by Songdew in association with Fabindia is out! Eight (8) fusion tracks are selected through the Contest out of hundreds of songs by various musicians from all across India. The winners are - Abhishek Borkar and Kehsav Iyengar, Vijay Durbha (Togetherness), Neehar Dabade, Ravi Iyer, Avra Banerjee, Indian Blue, Jim Ankan Deka (Eastwards) and Gopi Shravan.

Physical cultural features like Music, Crafts and Costumes offer a window to the rich cultural mélange of Meghalaya. The qualities of the Khasis are further revealed through Folk songs which are sung during and for various occasions such as birth, marriage, festivals, love and heroic deeds accompanied by various types of drums and flutes. They are also performed to praise the many elements of nature like mountains, lakes, waterfalls, rivers as they express their love for the land which gives life and sustenance to the people.

The indigenous people of the state are known for weaving cane mats, stools and baskets and have their own distinct attire as well; however, with the passage of time, the males took to the western code of everyday dressing; the ladies have been able to retain the tradition of maintaining their ethnic sartorial elegance.

The Monolith Festival is an attempt of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) to bring together these rich cultural traditions at one venue, for a visitor to be able to sample music, dance, food and pure tribal life in one place and at their convenience. This second edition of the festival is a Cultural Extravaganza, displaying the unique traditions through dances, music handicrafts, cuisines and attires of the Khasi Tribe of Meghalaya.

The Embassy of India in Egypt and Teamwork Arts present India by the Nile 2016 - a celebration of Indian contemporary and classical music, dance, theatre, visual arts, food and well-being. The annual cultural festival is supported by title sponsors TCI Sanmar Chemicals, S.A.E. The Festival, which has been billed as the biggest international Festival in Egypt, provides audiences an avenue to immerse themselves in the diverse cultural experience of Indian arts.

India by the Nile presents a spectrum of shows including the internationally acclaimed theatrical production Love Story – A Bollywood Musical, a Teamwork Arts production, celebrating the exuberance and opulence of the Indian film industry and the all time favorite Bollywood Dance Workshop by Artistic Director Gilles Chuyen. The world music band Indian Ocean which has toured the world and an Odissi Dance by the renowned Dona Gangulywill tour across multiple cities in Egypt.

The Festival will also felicitate "Women of Substance”, recognizing prominent Egyptian women who have excelled in diverse fields of society at a glittering ceremony hosted by the Ambassador of India to Egypt. The especially curated Food Fiesta by celebrated Chef VikramUdaygiri will run for a week at the Four Seasons Hotel and eminent street photographer Haran Kumar will showcase his work in a Photography Exhibition based around the spring festival of Holi. Audiences can heal themselves at the well-being experience that offers the services of qualified Ayurveda & Yoga experts and therapists from India.

IBN 2016 will also host a Make in India Business Seminar at the Embassy of India on 27 April 2016. The event will provide an opportunity to the prospective investors to interact with the experts from India and to know the investment opportunities in India.

HaikuJAM with Tinder on International Haiku Day

In celebration of International Haiku Poetry Day, Tinder, one of the world’s most popular apps for meeting new people, is partnering with HaikuJAM, the collaborative poetry-writing app based in London to crowdsource haiku poems about the magic of human connections. Over the course of the weekend, people around the world will create haiku poems together on themes ranging from Swiping Right, First Dates, Finding Love and everything in between.

The 17th of April marks International Haiku Poetry Day and is celebrated to encourage people to get creative and try their hand at writing haiku poetry. Haiku is an ancient Japanese form of poetry. Traditionally, it consists of three lines that usually evoke a feeling or an image. HaikuJAM is a creative social network where people around the world write haiku poetry together, one line at a time. Users can also substitute words with images to create ‘Photo-Stories’. Dash Berlin personally meets and greets every fan at Vh1 Supersonic Arcade

Dash Berlin, one of the most popular names in the EDM scene, took Mumbai by storm with a slew of eclectic tracks down his sleeves. In India for the Vh1 Supersonic Arcade, Dash was overwhelmed with the response he received from fans and as a token of appreciation, decided to meet with them, post his gig held at The Lalit, Mumbai on Friday, 15th April 2016.

Not only did he mesmerize his fans with his mind-blowing, profoundly energetic mixes, Dash spent a lot of time after the gig to meet everyone. As he concluded his final mix set he declared on the mic, "I want to meet every one of you". Ear piercing screams, heightened excitement, and the evening was just getting started!

Amongst the fans, was an ardent one who gifted him a Suzu Gong, keeping in mind his love for Bikram Yoga. Needless to mention, Dash loved every bit of the love and attention received from the huge fan-base in Mumbai thoroughly.

"India always surpasses my expectation. The vibe that you get back from the audience when you play for them is just super amazing. The warmth and hugs and gifts that people have showered on me shows their love. They know what I do, what I like. Thank you Mumbai! you remain special in my heart," shares an ecstatic Dash who stayed until the very end to meet every person waiting in line for him. It took almost 2 hours, as he autographed memorabilia, cracked jokes and took selfies with each one of them. He even handed over his own wrist bands to some of his fans!

Greeted by hugs, excited screams and gifts from the fans, the Dutch DJ has left the city quite humbled, to continue his tour in Pune and Bangalore.
